Telegram (informally abbreviated as TG or Telegram) is a cross-platform instant messaging software. Its client is free and open-source software, but the server-side is proprietary software. Users can exchange encrypted and self-destructing messages (similar to "burn after reading"), and send photos, videos, and all types of files. The official provides mobile versions (Android, iOS, Windows Phone), desktop versions (Windows, macOS, Linux), and web versions, among other platform clients. Additionally, the official provides an open application programming interface (API), allowing for a variety of third-party clients to choose from, many of which have built-in Chinese language support.
